Who We Are
ECORED, Inc. — Coalición del Este por Derechos y Medioambiente (Eastern Coalition for Rights and Environmental Defense) — is a Puerto Rico nonprofit corporation founded in 2008, the same year the Rio Mar easement lawsuit was filed.
We exist for one purpose: to protect the legal rights of Rio Mar property owners and to ensure the easements that guarantee golf, tennis, and beach facilities are honored — permanently.
For nearly two decades, EcoRed has served as the organizational and financial backbone of this community's legal effort. Longtime Rio Mar owners may also remember Comunidades Costeras, LLC, which co-funded the early years of this fight and merged into EcoRed in 2016 to consolidate resources behind a single organization. EcoRed has carried that combined legacy forward ever since.
We have been here from the beginning, and we will see this through to the end.
